Sebastiaan de Krom Quartet • World-Class Drummer
Bart Defoort (ts), Ron van Rossum (p), Sal La Rocca (b) ; Sebastiaan de Krom (dr)
Younger audiences, or those less familiar with jazz, may recognise Sebastiaan de Krom through his long collaboration with British singer and pianist Jamie Cullum. But this Dutch drummer, trained at Berklee and based in England for many years, has a more than impressive CV: he has played and recorded with legends such as Jackie McLean, John Scofield and Herbie Hancock, to name just a few. He is now regarded as one of the most respected drummers in the UK, and he also maintains a strong connection with Belgium, where he lived in his younger years. He is now reuniting a quartet with accomplices well known on our musical scene, much to our delight.
