Luxembourg-born bassist Boris Schmidt has established himself as one of the distinctive voices on the Belgian jazz scene. Known for his versatility – from baroque to Latin American traditions – he creates as a leader a personal sound world that is lyrical, warm and deeply expressive.
Following Now (2018), he returns with Here, an album with a remarkable story: after the studio burned down, the entire project had to be re-recorded months later. This ordeal adds a unique intensity to the music.
