Armando Luongo is among the most active drummers in Belgium, while also being a first-choice musical partner for many international jazz figures when they tour Europe: from Champian Fulton to Stéphane Belmondo, or Dmitry Baevsky, to name just a few.
Since 2020, he has also stepped forward as a leader and composer, gathering around him a line-up of some of Belgium’s hippest musicians and inviting American saxophonist Matt Chalk to form a remarkably cohesive quintet. A project that leaves plenty of space for these outstanding soloists to shine, and surprises with the natural flow of Luongo’s compositions.
