This year, for our monthly Juke Nights, the house orchestra led by Mathieu Najean focuses on a major figure of the Swing Era at each concert. A perfect opportunity to discover or rediscover a rich repertoire that was the most popular music of the 1930s and 40s.
For this edition, we highlight a rarely mentioned yet immensely talented figure: John Kirby. Double bassist, tubist, and above all an exceptional arranger and bandleader, he was one of the few musicians to adapt numerous classical pieces with taste and in a truly distinctive style.
