Adam O'Farrill's Elephant • BEST OF NEW-YORK JAZZ
Adam O'Farril (trp) ; Yvonne Rogers (p) ; Walter Stinson (db) ; Russell Holzman (trp)
Born in Brooklyn and of Cuban descent, Adam O’Farrill comes from an exceptional musical lineage.
At just 32 years old, he is already recognized as one of the most important voices in contemporary jazz — in a city that gathers some of the finest musicians in the world: New York.
In 2014, at only 20 years old, he won third prize at the highly prestigious Thelonious Monk Competition. Since then, he has twice been named “Best Rising Star Trumpeter” by DownBeat Magazine. In short, he’s the real deal.
He will be performing at Toots to present his latest album, “Elephant”, in quartet format alongside members of New York’s new generation of jazz musicians.
All the ingredients are there for a truly special evening.
