Elevatormusik feat. Yonatan Hes • TOP EUROPEAN YOUNG TALENTS
Milos Kunc (CZ/RS) - piano ; Liam Elion (IL/SE) - doublebass ; Ostrup-Kristensen (DK) - drums ; Yonatan Hes (FR) - alto sax
ELEVATORMUSIK, despite the name, doesn’t quite deal in background music.
This international trio, formed at the CNSM in Paris, has just released a debut album with a slightly suspicious title (Happy Cirkus). Their music clearly nods to the 1960s — Paul Bley, Monk, Ornette — but without trying to recreate it.
What you get here is an aesthetic where forms stay open, ideas don’t settle for too long, and the unexpected is part of the deal. Piano, bass, drums: a classic line-up, handled with very little interest in comfort.
For this concert, they’re joined by saxophonist Yonatan Hes — which should make things just that bit less predictable.
A group that doesn’t try to reassure, but offers something alive, in motion, and unpredictable enough to make you lean in and listen.
