Among the remarkable pool of jazz pianists Belgium has to offer, there is one whom they all regard with admiration, and whom almost all of them have, at some point, encountered as a teacher — at the conservatoire, during summer workshops, or through a piece of advice, a sentence, a harmonic insight that suddenly opened up whole new worlds.
His deep knowledge of music and harmony has left its mark on generations of musicians. A master among masters, an artist whose career perhaps never quite matched the full measure of his immense talent, he nevertheless remains an absolute reference point for all who have heard him or worked with him.
It is with his long-standing trio that we are delighted to welcome him. We know he is out of the ordinary, we know we are about to be captivated — and yet, every time, the sense of surprise remains intact.
