Mora / Millaci / Rossy • JAZZ STAR/WORLD PREMIERE
Toni Mora (g) ; Giuseppe Millaci (b) ; Jorge Rossy (dr)
Some music collaborations are simply meant to be. The meeting of legendary Catalan drummer Jorge Rossy, Spanish guitarist Toni Mora, and Italian-Belgian double bassist Giuseppe Millaci is one of them. Three unique voices come together around an entirely original repertoire, written by Mora and Millaci, where the tradition of contemporary jazz is expressed with rare sincerity and finesse.
When three musicians from different worlds come together around a common project, it can lead to a beautiful conversation. But when those three artists are Jorge Rossy, Toni Mora, and Giuseppe Millaci, that conversation becomes music: lively, refined music, rooted in the tradition of contemporary jazz while remaining resolutely personal. To celebrate the recording of their new album, they will perform these brand new compositions for the first time at Toots Jazz Club.
Jorge Rossy. Famous for his long-standing collaboration with Brad Mehldau (as the drummer of his legendary trio for more than ten years), Rossy remains today one of the most acclaimed musicians on the international jazz scene — not only as a drummer, but also as a vibraphonist and pianist.
