Nostalgia In Grand Place : Composers For Miles • TRIBUTE
Erik Vermeulen (p) ; Manolo Cabras (b) ; Marek Patrman (dr)
Miles Davis, besides being one of the most important musicians in the history of jazz and the creator of many of its currents, was also an extraordinary discoverer of talent. Most of the artists who passed through the bands of the genius trumpeter went on to build exceptional solo careers.
While he signed several masterpieces himself, many of his protégés composed for him – officially or not. From Bill Evans to Wayne Shorter, via Herbie Hancock, many of these works have become true jazz classics.
It is this common thread that will be explored by one of our finest pianists: Erik Vermeulen.
