New Orleans–born bassist Jasen Weaver settled in Brussels in 2020 and quickly established himself as one of the scene’s most reliable voices. Impressive for his accuracy, impeccable time feel, and a warm, enveloping tone, he is also a gifted composer and a natural bandleader. For several years now, he has led a “Brussels-based” quintet, presenting music deeply rooted in his Louisiana heritage, infused with a modern language and driven by an irresistible swing.
