To celebrate Valentine’s Day in the best mood, we’re hosting two exceptional evenings with Femi Temowo.
Born in Nigeria and based in the UK, Temowo is a true reference in the worlds of jazz, soul, and improvisation. Highly respected for his expressive tone and refined harmonic sense, he became widely known through his long-standing collaboration with Amy Winehouse, touring internationally with her and helping shape her unmistakable sound.
Blending his West African Yoruba heritage — through subtle vocals and chants — with a personal take on modern jazz that’s elegant, cool and full of character, Femi Temowo delivers music that feels both fresh, stylish… and effortlessly accessible.
He comes to Toots at the invitation of Slovenian bassist Robert Jukič, whose impressive career speaks for itself.
The trio is completed by a master of Afrobeat, and collaborator of Lionel Loueke among others: drummer Christi Joza Orisha.
