David Sauzay invites David Hazeltine • World-class jazz cats
David Hazeltine (p) ; Fabien Mary (tp) ; Xaver Hellmeier (dr) ; Fabien Marcoz (cb) ; David Sauzay (sax)
For many years, David Sauzay has been one of the most important voices in mainstream jazz in France. He has performed and recorded with an impressive list of major European and American musicians, including Mulgrew Miller, Steve Grossman, Alain Jean-Marie, Kenny Wheeler, Antonio Faraò, Michel Graillier, and André Ceccarelli.
He now presents a new quintet album firmly rooted in the pure hard bop tradition. Surrounding him is a team of genre specialists, including trumpeter Fabien Mary, whose command of the bop vocabulary is respected throughout Europe, and American pianist David Hazeltine.
A longtime accompanist to jazz legends ranging from Chet Baker to Ron Carter, Hazeltine is today one of the leading figures of contemporary New York mainstream jazz.
A concert not to be missed for anyone who loves truly swinging music.
