Timothe Lemaire Quartet • Swingin'
Timothé le Maire (tb) ; Maxime Moyaerts (pn) ; Max Malkomes (cb) ; Laurent Vigneron(dms)
Timothé Lemaire is Brussels’ very own swing specialist. Active in an impressive number of projects — including his own big band, for which he has carefully transcribed the music of Duke Ellington, as well as Morning Call, a project dedicated to the repertoire of the Mills Brothers where he serves as the main arranger — he is a musician as discreet as he is talented.
Often working behind the scenes, he regularly demonstrates his remarkable command of the trombone once a month at Toots with the house band. Tonight, however, we get to see him step into the spotlight, leading his own quartet.
Expect serious swing, delivered with the kind of good humour that will likely stay with you for the rest of the evening… and probably the next day as well.
