Formed around Cape Verdean singer and cavaquinho player Marcelino “Tchala” Almeida, the Tchala’s Band brings together the traditions of Cape Verde with the colours of European jazz. Blending morna, coladeira and improvisation, the band creates vibrant music where melancholy meets celebration, and the infectious energy makes it impossible to sit still.
